One of the aspects of this project that we are all excited about is reducing the use of fossil fuels on the ranch. We are lucky that Mary has the skills (and inclination!) to make a big part of that reduction happen through the use of horse power. She’s spent the last few months scouring the country for suitable draft horses (along with scouring the region for suitable land!). This past week she finally zeroed in on a dynamic duo: Lucy and Aya. More on them soon, but as I write, Lucy is being moved to her temporary home: Woodland Stallion Station. In a month or so she’ll move to the Valley.
