Scraping

So, there’s a spot on the farm that I like to call the Filaree Field. It’s about in the geographic center of the land, has trees around it, and beautiful open fields. It feels both open and isolated at the same time. And it’s where we camped the first few times we camped out on the land. But in late May, as everything was drying up, I started getting really worried about wildfires. So, we decided to move our camp closer to the entrance. It was a logical choice, and camping was still lovely, but not nearly as lovely as the other location.

So, when our new friend & neighbor Jim kept offering to level us a camp site with his earth moving equipment, we decided to take him up on the offer. He cleared the road & a large fire-safe zone back at the Filaree Field. For all of his help, we are very thankful!
